CULTURAL FOOD TOURS
Our tours are about sharing our ancestors cultural stories, and the narrative of the diverse people which now call Ōtautahi / Christchurch home. We do this this through meandering through our less known areas and tasting our way through our local food and wine.
It’s about getting out and about and walking to your destinations and discovering our Māori and settler heritage and connecting you with the exquisite hard to find local establishments with unique stories to share.
Christchurch is evolving faster than the guideboooks. Join our passionate, local guides on a journey of discovery as they travel by foot through laneways, gardens, historic buidlings and landmarks to find the city’s most delicious culinary delights.
Along the way you will learn some basic Te Reo (Māori Language), meet the locals behind some of Christchurch’s best eateries and see why manaakitanga (hospitality) is a core value of the Āmiki brand.
We take cultural food tours to the next level, in between courses we will share some of Christchurch’s Maori and early setllers history, fun facts about one of the world’s newest cities and take you to some of the city’s hidden gems.
You will visit 3-5 central city, whānau (family) owned eating establishments that are waiting for you to try their tasty creations and enjoy the laid back kiwi atmosphere.

An Amiki Tour combines storytelling, history and city sights with Kai (food), Manaakitanga (hospitality) and whanaungatanga (connection). You arrive as strangers and leave as a whanau (family).
Kai (food) brings people and cultures together, it breaks down barriers, creates conversation and fuels the soul, we love what we do and can’t wait to host and your group for these very reasons.
